Behavior Support Basics

COURSE:

BEHAVIOR SUPPORT: HOW TO NOTICE INCREASING SIGNS OF AGITATION

First Aid and CPR

COURSE: Training meets OSHA Guidelines for First Aid Programs and combines lecture, interactive video demonstrations featuring emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a workplace environment and hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills.
- First Aid: Participants learn first aid skills for treating a variety of injuries, such as burns, wounds, head, neck and back injuries, and heat and cold emergencies. Participants also learn to manage sudden illnesses, stroke, seizure, bites and poisoning.
- CPR-Adult: Participants learn how to perform CPR and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. This includes AED training.

COST: $80 in advance, $90 at the door (Price increase due to increase from the American Red Cross).

AUDIENCE: Agency and independent providers: Class must have 6 people and no more than 12.

Medication Administration

COURSE: A 14-hour course for providers. Complete instruction to fulfill the Medication Administration Personnel Certification I for oral and topical medications and health related activities.

COST: $140 in advance, $150 at the door

NOTE 1: Bring Criminal background check and high school diploma or GED. NOTE 2: No Lunch break – Bring lunch or we will order in at your cost.

MUI/Incidents Adversely Affecting Health and Safety

ANNUAL REQUIREMENT FOR PROVIDERS

COURSE: Basic/New MUI Rules, Unusual Incident Reporting, Major Unusual Incident Reporting, Definitions, Scenarios, and Health and Safety Alerts.

COST: $20 in advance, $30 at the door

AUDIENCE: Providers and County Board Staff who are in need of basic MUI Rules regarding the identification and reporting of MUI’s and UI’s.

Provider Certification

This course meets the 8 hours of required training in accordance with the guidelines established by the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD)

COURSE:
-  Overview of serving individuals with developmental disabilities
-  Overview of basic principles & requirements of HCBS waiver services
-  Incidents adversely affecting health and safety
-  Provisions governing rights of individuals
-  Universal Precautions

AUDIENCE: Independent and Agency providers, and County Board staff
